WHIPgroup filed a Complaint in the District Court of Connecticut on behalf of its client New Leaf Data Services, LLC for claims including trademark infringement and cybersquatting. The Defendant holds itself out as a marijuana stock exchange and is accused of infringing two registered trademarks by using the marks on its websites as well as purchasing domains that incorporate the marks to automatically redirect to its websites. WHIPgroup is seeking transfer of the domains, monetary damages, and attorneys’ fees and costs, among other forms of relief.
