Specializes in patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark office. Mr. Gutierrez has drafted and prosecuted toward allowance patent applications in the mechanical and chemical arts. Prior to joining WHIPgroup, Mr. Gutierrez interned at Sikorsky, where he assisted with the prosecution of mechanical applications and patent clearance searches related to rotorcraft. Mr. Gutierrez has further experience working at a boutique intellectual property firm where he assisted in prosecuting patent and trademark matters.
During law school, Mr. Gutierrez was the president of the Intellectual Property Law Society and a member of the Connecticut Journal of International Law. He also participated in UConn Law’s Intellectual Property Law Clinic, where he drafted and prosecuted patent and trademark applications for local entrepreneurs.
